I bought this from amazon about 4 months ago now for my old acer laptop and it's been brilliant. It installs itself (winXp) and is ready for use within seconds. It reads cards very fast and enables me to copy 2GB's of photos in about 5mins whereas the same card on my HP desktops built in card reader would take about 20! Also it works perfectly on my Xbox 360 so viewing photos on my 32" Samsung has never been faster or easier! I highly recomend this and what a great price.

It does what it promises.
For some cards it's nice and easy - for others you need to place them correctly.
Overall, it's a very useful device that I use over and over, due to having purchased devices with every bl00dy combination of media.
Buy smart and you won't need it.
Buy the best, media no issue, and this will help make your life much easier.
No problems with it after quite some time, so for the price, there is no complaint at all. "Does what it says on the tin"

Review Summary: damages my SD cards

this reader may be fast but it has been physically damaging my SD cards when inserting them into the slot; the cards do not go in smoothly and the small plastic separators on the contact end have been caught and bent several times, i.e. each time I have tried to insert the card;
I managed to fix the damage the first time round and the card has gone without problems into the camera and into a Sandisc reader and the integrated reader in my notebook, just not this reader, which will go on the junk-heap before it damages any more cards;
maybe I am unlucky, but be forewarned of the possibility.

returned this kingston 15-1-card reader on 3/3/08,(faulty connection) posted at local p/o at 1600 hrs on 3/3,expected to recieve replacement in about two weeks, SURPRISE SURPRISE,replacement arrived the next day at 1100 hr, 18 hrs in all. this is an excelent product and has saved me money on other expensive gadjets.
